| It's wednesday around noon, and I have yet to begin writing my final paper for ENG338 - my last final. It's a seven page paper on some endangered language and my theories on the reason for its decline. Sunny topic huh? At least the weather is. I stepped outside today in my pjs and was blown away by the heat. At least for this time of year in Maine. Means the bugs are out though. I spent a good 15 mins chasing a huge moth back out my window last night. It feels like I JUST took out my AC, and now its time to put it back in again. But really, how can you have a bad day when the sun is shining? Dave left to go back to Florida last weekend, but the two weeks he was here were awesome. Now that hes gone and finals are just about over, I'll final have some free time again. Of course I'm getting a full time job this summer, but until then I'm going to take full advantage of the time and the weather. Due to many reasons, I have taken probably 4 semesters of language that I never got credit for. Mostly cuz I failed out of the class because I never went, or because I never did the stupid homework. At any rate, I have a very respectable knowledge of at least the first semesters of German, Japanese, and ASL. This summer I'm going to use my old textbooks to make sure I am up to par and then I'm going to try to test out of semester 1 of all of those languages. Sorta make up for all the times I fucked up before, and also brush up on my language skills on MY terms. Needless to say, I'm sure I won't be bored this summer. FFXI - Actually feel sorta bad about how much RL has impinged on my ability to be online when I really should be. Mostly Dynamis. On the other hand, the things that I've done instead have been important for school, and it's nice to finally finish a semester where I didn't feel like I should drop out of college afterwards. But either way, I'm planning to be around for as much dynamis as possible barring a new work schedule. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Haven't taken a lot of pics because my internet connection has been very shakey for the past month or so (they're coming to fix it on tuesday) and I'm always afraid that running large programs in the background will kick me off. But as for the ones I do have: This was the first of 3 consecutive smn af2 drops in Dynamis-Sandy one week. At least one of them ended up being trashed. But I think it's one of the better af2 pieces so I'm happy to have it =D
And for Mercedes ~ Lastly, please beware of the Elvaan..

| Well, once again it has been ages since I last updated. But I figured after last night I really had no excuse to put it off longer.
I've had mnk leveled for over a year now, and brd lvled long before that, but since I mostly considered myself a blm at heart I passed on all the haidate back then. Anyways, while it's great for my mnk, I'm really excited to try Haidate on my ninja. I think this is possibly the most valuable piece of equipment I own, if you count how many jobs I'll use it on. So thank you impulse! Once again I feel so proud to have this item because of all of the people that helped me get it. So much has happened since my last entry, its hard to know where to start. I guess my biggest passion these days has been lvling ninja with my static. Ironically, I have like, NO pictures of lvling, but during the course of exping nin I've camped codexes and faught NM's for swift belt, did nin AF, learned to cancel ichi pretty well, learned a lot more about melee, and I've even tanked for jp parties and held hate against elvaan mnk/wars. A long time ago taku told me I should lvl nin (though I'm pretty sure he tells that to all mages =P), and I'm pretty sure that besides blm, I'm going to love playing this job most. So thanks for the advice =) My other major focus has been saturday dynamis. Unfortunately, I've been going to florida a ridiculous number of times in the past few months, and haven't attended myself as much as I'd like. We're currently discussing changes to the payment system, but considering that's the biggest of our worries, I think things are going pretty well =) I'm looking forward to getting a stable base membership that can start to work towards more tactical goals, maybe even DL. Basically I want a well-trained SWAT team to take down as many mobs as possible with a small number of people. Anyways I'm pretty excited about the possibilities there and what we might do in the future. It's hard to believe Shortbus has been running close to two years now! RL-wise, I've been visiting Dave a lot, and that's been fun. Golfers and kinda kooky people lol. It's been fun trying new restaurants and hanging out with his friends. And dude, MLB started last weekend! Cannot WAIT to watch the Sox. With Matsuzaka and our hitters I predict great things this season! Dave's coming back between semesters april 20-may 5, and by that time, I'll be almost done with school. This summer is gonna kick so much ass, cuz now that I think of it, I haven't had a class-free summer in like 2 years. Plus, summer in Maine is the best place to be =D So~ Mnk meriting!

| Ah, the pressures of online responsibility. Thought I was going to get really burnt out with the new static because I'm not used to sitting in front of the computer that long anymore, but after this weekend it doesn't seem too unmanagable. The week has definitely felt busy though. School has been strolling along at a fairly good pace. I'm still on top of everything which is a plus, but I have to admit to myself that I got barely any homework done this weekend, and if that's going to be the case for the next few months, I'm going to have to make up for it during the weekdays. I'm going to an Iron Chef American (note the "n" so they didn't infringe on copyrights) event this saturday for my ASL class. I don't think it's only for the deaf community, but supposedly there's going to be plenty of deaf ppl there for me to "observe and interact with". My mom's coming with me cuz she's going to be bored that weekend since her bf is gonna be gone. The theme ingredient is Oranges! FFXI-wise, I'm struggling to maintain a balance between going to as many events as I can, while not hurting my RL situation in school or anything. This last week I managed to attend Sky, Assault, Dynamis Byrdclaw, KS99 Fafhogg, PLing with Nahgas, Shortbus Dynamis, and about 7 hrs of lvling nin. I don't think I'm gonna be able to keep up that schedule regularly so I'll probably limit it to assault, sky, and the weekends, with as many thurs events thrown in as I can make. Anyways, while its been busy and a little more stressful than I'm used to, I'm having so much fun. It's so nice to talk to people that make me laugh out loud every 5 mins. I'm really just enjoying the company, and revelling in the LS-life of Impulse. I'll just let my SS's speak for themselves:

| Back from florida! No pics, but it was only a weekend. Went to Pleasure Island and the Disney Boardwalk again. Saw Tiger win (again) at the ESPN bar. First night I got there we went out with Dave's friends again cuz they wanted to see me again (met them two weeks ago when I went down there after New Years). I'm totally trying to get this one guy to eat a shitload of Nutmeg cuz he's the only one I think would actually be able to get it all down without quitting halfway. The guy drank a whole bottle of Barbeque sauce on a bet and tried drinking a beer through his nose just to see if he could do it. Anyways, besides that wierd quirk, he's pretty funny and very easy to get along with. Oh well, maybe next time. Brought a 1/2 oz. down with me and we enjoyed much toking and merriment. Also brought the N64. Dave's getting decent at Mario Tennis, but still no one comes close to beating me in Mario Kart ~.^ (arcade version doesn't count!). On the way back I had a two-hour layover in Charlotte so I went to a bar and got a drink. When I was looking for a stool to sit down at, I asked this one lady if the one beside her was taken. At first she nodded, and then she shook her head and then she said something which I thought I heard as "frei". So I sat down and ordered my drink, and all the time I was sorta looking at the lady out of the corner of my eye trying to decide if she "looked" German. Well, she was wearing a red white and blue leather jacket with USA on the sleeve, which I figured not TOO many americans would sport as a matter of course, so I went ahead and asked her, and it turns out she WAS german, and she was visiting her oldest daughter in Kentucky and was in the process of flying back to Berlin. So we ended up chatting in German for about 20 mins which was cool for me because I always welcome the chance to brush up my conversational skill, and I imagine it was cool for her since she was all alone, doesn;t speak much english and probably hadn't spoken to anyone in hours. So that was cool. Anyways I'm back now and totally out-slept my alarm this morning so I'm taking a day off as it 'twere. No more vacations on the horizon til .... well shit! I get spring break on the 16th of Feb. so I guess I'll be gone againt then, but til then I'm here. FFXI: In the two weeks after I came back, I've mostly spent my time meriting, doing events like limbus, dynamis, and sky, and dabbling a little in missions and assault. Lvling-wise I am going to lvl my nin up with Nahgas and The Girls and whoever else comes along. Since my nin's at 41 already, we'll either start around that lvl, or I'll lvl my rng up with those who are starting from scratch. Anyways last week we did limbus a couple times, but one of them was the Omega fight with 12 ppl I think. We got nice drops too: body > dams feet > shino head > noirr Right after that we did some tier 2 assaults to try to get ppl their next rank (and me assault points!)
We also did Lamia 13 and c'mon there's nothing funnier than a midget chasing a long-shanks with a two-handed staff.
All in all I'm definitely enjoying being back. It sorta feels like spring cleaning because I've forgotten about all the stupid little shit I was worried about or wanted or wanted to do from before so now I feel like I have a lot of time, and a lot of options, and very laid-back. "It's a good thing" And finally, I think my computer or game is secretly set in German somewhere...
